Prostate is an organ that surrounds the urethra of males at the base of the bladder, comprising a muscular portion, which controls the release of urine, and a glandular portion, which secretes an alkaline fluid that makes up part of the semen and enhances the fertility of sperm. Prostate cancer develops in the prostate gland in the male reproductive system. The cancer cells spread from the prostate to other parts of the body, predominantly the bones and lymph nodes. Prostate cancer causes pain, difficulty in urinating, problems during sexual intercourse, or erectile dysfunction. There are other symptoms too which can potentially develop during later stages of the disease. The prostrate is one of the most perilous cancer which is prevalent in males over the age of fifty. This typical form of cancer is detected more in the Europe countries and the United States than the Asian countries. The ailing part of prostate cancer is that it is never known at the early stages.
As a mater of fact, till yet the actual cause of prostate cancer is not known. Scientists are dying hard to find a breakthrough in the treatment of this fatal disease. However, many factors, including genetics and improper diet have been implicated reasons for the development of prostate cancer. Smoking has also been one of the prominent factors that enhance the prostrate cancer. The presence of prostate cancer may be indicated by symptoms, physical examination, and by prostate specific antigen (PSA), or biopsy.
The prostrate cancer is a life threatening disease, perhaps with the proper medical treatment and lifestyle changes, this fatal disease can be perfectly cured.
